RCP At A Glance
The Rotary Club of Parañaque (RCP) was born out of a need. In the late 1974 a group of men, some working with the big industrial firms along South Superhighway and some residing in the numerous subdivisions in Parañaque, felt that Parañaque, then a municipality with the fastest growing population in the metropolitan area, needed a new service organization.
A group of 10 prospective Rotarians held their first meeting at "The Pub" in the Magallanes Commercial Center on October 29, 1974. A steering committee was formed composed of Cesar Yatco, Pete Henson, and Rene Cayetano. The group worked hard (and drank harder). Subsequent meetings in November and December brought in new recruits. In fact, 29 eager prospective Rotarians attended the December 16th meeting! Significantly, some of the prospective members were already members of the Rotary Club of Pasay whose business or residence was located in Parañaque. This was the beginning of what is now one of the most successful clubs in the district.

This year's Most Outstanding Rotarian epitomizes a member who totally immersed himself in the Service of Rotary during the year. His position as a Past President of the club did not stop him from spending time, effort, and talent in order to insure the success of Rotary Year 2008-2009.
